QR Enrollment at Nets

Recurring payments of products and services, directly from the debtors bank account, with minimal effort from the debtors side.

Challenge

The Nordic financial corporation Nets has been running a service for the last 40 years, known as "Betalingsservice", which allows creditors and debtors to enroll for recurring payments of products and services, directly from the debtors bank account, with minimal effort from the debtors side. Nets wanted to allow the companies and organizations that use "Betalingsservice" to enroll customers directly, using mobile applications.

Nets had conceived a plan to allow creditors to generate QR codes, which will lead customers to an enrollment page for the creditor. Upon completion of the enrollment form, the debtor is signed up with the creditor, and the creditor can start withdrawing payments and supplying the service or product agreed.

Solution

Nets has chosen Itera to implement their vision of an easy-enrollment platform. Itera implemented a solution which allows creditors to log in and generate QR codes for use in their campaigns, and collect usage statistics and customer details.

As an integral part of the enrollment, the users' CPR number is utilized in a web service call to the CPR registry, in order to look up address and name, to save the user for time-consuming writing on small mobile devices.

This project was delivered using the Hybrid Delivery Model, and consultants across borders.

Result

With the new solution, Nets has achieved its ambition to get an easily accessible interface, which will allow on-the-fly enrollment of debtors with creditors. Furthermore, the implementation overhead is minimal, as the solution largely uses existing infrastructure, and places the work of generating QR codes with the creditors.
